And she conquered.... VENI VEDI VECI

On a deserted road in the middle of night, she was standing all alone, Farah went berserk, her blood froze, she was shocked. Tears were rolling down her cheeks, she felt feeble and weak, mustering all the courage she called Dhruv again, but all her calls went unanswered. Wiping her tears, she went to her apartment, unlocked the doors that were closed since she moved in with Dhruv. After looking at every corner of her house she unpacked her stuff, sipped her favourite cappuccino and thought of the life went by...
Farah was a writer by profession, like her stories she was plucky, independent and rebellious. She met Dhruv on her project of script writing in Mumbai. Meeting Dhruv, was the best thing she felt has happened to her, for right from the start of her career, she was so engrossed in her work, that she never got the opportunity to invest in a relationship. In a very short period, Farah found a good friend, a mentor and star in Dhruv. There was a different glow in her eyes whenever Dhruv was around. She was over the moon when Dhruv confessed his feelings. She immediately reciprocated her love in same way. But Dhruv also told her that he was married. She was shocked and felt cheated but when he said he was already seeking a divorce from his wife, she felt she deserve a chance, she felt may be this was meant to be. Leaving all her fears behind Farah decided to go ahead with their relationship.
After running for years she found solace in Dhruv and somewhere in her heart she felt things would fall in place ( after all, he said he is parting ways with his wife). Life was beautiful now. Farah was promoted, she was in a happy space. She and Dhruv moved into live in relationship. Love and happiness was all around.
But as they say, life is not a fairy tale and love, it comes with its own price. Farah was expecting her child with Dhruv and dhruv still have not divorced his wife. Life was never meant to be easy... There otherwise so sweet relation was turning sour with there everyday argument. Farah found herself at the crossroads, she was perplexed, confused, her life was ripped off. But like her stories, she was unafraid, she decided to keep the baby.
With the changing season, things changed between Dhruv and Farah. It was no use deceiving herself any longer. Dhruv was never there, she was shunned by the world as she was by Dhruv but she was independent and unafraid.  All alone, she went to hospital, filled the form , did the formalities and delivered her love. Her new love, her only companion, her baby filled her with sense of fulfilment that she had been devoid for years. It was love unconditional..

She realized few decisions of her went the wrong way but like a true warrior she fought,  she raised her child exactly the way she was unafraid, Independent and rebellious.
She don't have any historic achievements to lay at the door but she is definatly a winner. Call her plucky, rebel or whatever she takes pride in living her life on her own terms without the fear of world , without the fear of society she belongs.
She came, She saw, She conquered...

Change : The only constant

Since the evolution, change has been the only constant thing. Life changes everyday ,every moment  and for every person. Seasons change, in order to  grow up and evolve we change, even the beauty of winter last year changed this year.We all go through changes, whether a simple change of rain pouring or a bigger change. Every one of us have our own way to deal with the change.
How many of us happily welcome the change???
I have always found it onerous to accept, irrespective of its goodness or solidity. I remember the times when even changing of sitting arrangement was such a big change for me. I always  took time to accept the change and adjust to new surroundings and people. You know how it is like moving out of your closet ,coming out from your cocoon ,not that I am a standof fish kind of person but still change is a change is a change. But yes , I am blessed soul, changes have always beem kind to me, yeah you have been really great to me.
I know changing of partner in school days gave me little time with my bestie  but then in this entire sitting arrangement process , I made many friends so change acha tha!!!  Moving away from home to hostel was a sea change ,mommy , home cooked food and everything readily showered on you, was such a life but then the change taught me to handle things on my own and introduced me to a new me..( I had so much qualities I never knew 😜). So, change acha tha. Then was the another phase of life where waking up with a bed tea and newspaper was replaced by kettle in hand( yeah you guessed it right being married phase) but then this shift introduced me with my partner for life, my very dear husband. This change was surely acha, in fact quite acha!!!
So many changes so far have been quite alluring. Ofcourse, to say change is always acha will not be true because there are few on way which,we never wanted but had to accept ....
But with the growing  time I have learned to accept and embrace the changes. Like my recent change in the list is moving from BLOGGERS to WORDPRESS, which was the need of hour now.Initially I was quite hesitant to move out of my comfort zone  where everything was so familiar like easy to manage templates ,layout . BLOGGER to me was like mommy ,where my baby blog was born ,with simple ,easy guide but now that the baby is spreading it's wing ,it need to grow and evolve.so now my blog has a new address . It has shifted from
      Lyflikedatmansi.blogspot.in to https://lyflikedat.wordpress.com .
Do stop by ,you will find more ways to express, share and interact.
Truly kuch change ache hote hai for
" if nothing ever changes ,there would be no                                                                                                                           butterflies".

Sex..the hush hush affair..

Don't castrate,
                      But educate. - Himmilicious..

So all eye balls right here... Well the word alone is enough to raise the attention. We all are becoming modern family going on all girl's trip to partying with our children, Good hai!! But SEX, hooo !!! how can we talk about that with our children, we have some values right??? wrong.
The other day I went to meet my friend Devyani and in between our chit chats I asked her 17  years daughter ' what is her opinion about Sex. Her not so urban mother immediately gave her the go inside look and she giggling like a 3 year old went. Obviously my loving friend was not looking so happy with me talking about the word S..
BUT WHY???? I always wonder why. Why we don't want to talk about it? Why is it a taboo?? We all do it, we share the so called non veg jokes ( well I also wonder why they are said NON VEG jokes ). She can let her darling daughter read Mills & boon, the dear daughter can watch adult movies and flip channels while  mummy is around but no sex talks, why?? Why can't we educate them ( OK , here I don't mean teaching them how to do it , but how to go for it RESPONSIBLY )

If I go by facts , we are a country of 1.2 billion and also the 5th largest country watching porn but terribly poor in educating our children. So can we just grow up and understand that when they hit puberty their inquistiveness about the outside world and the opposite sex is just a part of their growing up.I think before we get into the sorry  situation let's teach them so they learn the facts, set boundaries for themselves. Also we will be able to avoid rape, molestation, child abuse, early pregnancy ...
I don't want it to be a gyan  session but yes thanks to the Google baba and growing awareness here are few books to help you and your  anxious one's..
1. What's happening to my body by Linda Madaras ( age 11-15 ) : it's a perfect book to teach your young boys and girls about their growing up.
2. SEX by Nikol Hasler ( age 16+ ) : this book will make you leave all your awkwardness behind and will help your older kids to grow responsible towards sex.
     Let's stop being ill informed...

Double Trouble :Is it worth having an extra marital affair # Fall in love

How could I do this??? How ? Perplexed and amazed she was...

The winters of Delhi always evoke a beautiful smell. Sipping her favorite cappuccino, standing in the balcony , Shail was waving down to Dhruv but was lost in her own world. Dhruv was leaving for work and here she was ready to be embraced by loneliness and boredom..Shail was married for five years and her better half was a busy man, typical workaholic but he always loved and cared for shail. He gave Shail everything but time. Over the years, love was lost somewhere between them. Shail though, always knew Dhruv's passion for work but little did she knew she will fall for someone, someone who was long gone forgotten.  She didn't knew her world will be divided between Dhruv and someone. She never thought that someday, after so many years she will fall in love with him, one more time.
She didn't realized when she dipped  herself into love, leaving everything behind.
She met him a year back , in a book store. At the very first glanced the spark was ignited again. She knew he is the one, the inseparable soul, who would take her miles and miles apart from humdrum and doldrums.... And SO...after that she started meeting him everyday, every single day at her place right after Dhruv left for work..
Since then shail was altogether a different person, all she use to think about him, the times she had spend with him. I was surprised with the change i saw in my friend Shail . How could the plainest of all , Shail could do so ...
Now Shail  felt happy when Dhruv came late from work, so that she can spend more time with him.. She started calling Dhruv to ensure what time he plans to come back so that she can be with him a little more..she started liking the way he smell, the way he rest on her laps, the way her face is always so close to him. Her lost love took her to the new world of imagination, to new fantasies. One day, he would take her to the world of lust and some other day she would travel with him to the path of spirituality. Whatever it was , she loved him every way.
But then ...
The otherwise so busy Dhruv felt the change in his beloved wife. He felt she was spending less time with him. He tried to tell her politely but she choose to ignore. Somewhere in her heart, Shail knew she was changed. She now felt sad for her husband. She tried to come back  but now it was a full time affair. She was so involved that now she wanted to plan her future with him.

Shail is little depressed.. She wants to come back as the one she was for Dhruv but at the same time she don't want to loose her love again. She needs help from those who are reading her story or are travelling in same boat . she don't want to ignore Dhruv but she can't leave her love..who was always there for her anytime, anywhere
YES her old lost Love ..Her BOOKS...HER NOVELS, which after marriage was lost.
YES, it's that smell of books and the world of Imagination she don't want to be out of...it's all those stories she had fallen in love with, yes with all her senses one more time..

Forget me Not...... Please...

Welcome to hotel California ....by Eagles, was ringing. It  kept ringing again and again. Ritu was calling on her own number..no it was not in the drawing room...Ummm...not on the microwave..Ahhh there it was under the couch...Ritu sighed a relief.

Ritu (one of my BFFs ) is bitten by bug called "FORGETFULNESS". she  forget so many things in the span of freaking two minutes. She forget where she kept her cell phone , she forgets to take appointments of doctors, she gets out , lock the car and keys keep dangling in the car.she walks into the kitchen then stand on the doorway wondering what she went to take, she again had to go back to the place to recall what she had to do. Almost everyone around is the victim of her ' short term memory' , topping the list is her dear husband and little munchkin.  She forgets her password,ATM pins, reset them almost every week, limit was when she started to make notes of things to do and forgot where she kept her note pad. She is just so forgetful , I guess the part of brain that is supposed to remember things is in  rusting mode.

Irritated, tired and frustrated by this habit of hers I asked" how come you always keep forgetting things and you know what, she always have reason to give, very conveniently she blamed the pregnancy harmones( yeah, she was expecting then) , and now she blames it to the senior moments( ageing you see!!) , blame it to the multitasking she does. But this time when I asked her why did you forgot and how ( she was suppose to meet me this weekend) , she didn't played any blame game. This time she was  praising herself for this typical habit of hers...though forgetting is sad but at the same time it is the key for happiness for her. She is happy that she forget and forgive quickly, she don't remember conversations that are unnecessary, she forget what hurts her, the regret, the pain , the grudges. She forgot where her car keys are, that's sad but she also forgot her early morning argument with her dear husband..now that's a happy thing..
Her this state remind me of a very famous track ' bhool gayi Sab kuch, yaad nahi ab kuch....'
So anybody bitten by this bug of forgetfulness.. Feel free to share,we will forget anyway !!

Love Soured # that story ...

In continuation with Love Soured. ..Part 1...

Aakash was drowning and was loosing all sense of reality. Before it was the craziness, the love that blew his senses. Now, it was the pain ,the agony of drifting away from Ruhanika that was making him void.
It's been three months since she has gone but Aakash was still hanging on the strings of hope that Ruhanika would be back again. Passing from those lanes, exhaling the smoke, puff after puff, he wanted to loose all that was in his head. But still, everyday after his work, he looked for her at every place that witness their love..those India Gate lanes, that Cafe coffee day and above all of them the place he missed most was his own place , where for hours and hours they had cajoled, loved and embraced each other...
Ruhanika was lost like she never existed. Aakash was shattered,he was not able to accept that she loved him, she promised him and then she was gone, gone just like that..

Everyday he asked himself
Why did she left me, as I cry
Why did she promised to stay with me,
If she has to wave goodbye...
                                                                             Why..

But, as they say nothing last forever, neither the good, nor the bad. Yet again the winds of change were set to blow. Aakash was a true taurian and swore by Mr. Paulo Coelho' s words that "when you really want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it "
It  wasn't another weekend and Aakash saw Ruhanika again, right there where he saw her for the first time. India Gate was truly magical and  indeed it proved again to be just more than a monument. He couldn't believe his eyes, was it the smoke effect or was it really her. He was a thrilled with joy ,his happiness knew no bounds. She still looked the same beautifully beautiful... For him,  it wasn't only the way she looked, it was much more, her aura, her eyes ,her smile that was only for him. He rushed towards the other side of lane where he saw her standing, for this time he didn't want her to get lost in the crowd, this time he didn't wanted to let her go. But as his eyes met Ruhanika's , his world came to a stand still , he took a back step for all he saw was Ruhanika, what he missed to notice was the vermilion on her head and her hands holding someone's hand. Truly he was in cannabis effect.

Love Soured....# and then I never saw her again..

Drowning , devouring all sense of reality.....

This isn't true, hoping all this to be a dream, Aakash walked away , trying hard not to look back, holding his tears he walked.
The drops were dripping down his body as he was walking in the rain...reading and re- reading that message, his hands were shaking, heart was aching, wiping his tears he read that message again..reality after all is hard to accept.
For him, there love story began right at the moment he saw her for the first time at India Gate,in those chilling December winters.
There is nothing more beautiful than Delhi winters and India Gate too, is so much more than a monument that only a delhiet can tell, its about morning walks, weekend breaks, creating stories, making relationship, match making ,family picnics and much more. That day proved it well, there could be nothing more beautiful and delightful as an air of euphoria was floating around...
The moment Aakash saw Ruhanika his heart skipped a beat, for some reason he couldn't take his eyes off her, he didn't seem to notice how beautiful she was or the way she was dressed, for him it was beyond the bounds of looks, for him ,it was kalon. In splits, he fell for her. His heart pounced when he saw her lost in the crowd, he became restless like a bird trapped in the cage, wanted to see her again and again but was clueless .. That glimpse of her was enough to fall in love. For days and days, all he thought was about her, searched for her at every possible place but he failed...
It is well said that if it is meant to be, it will be. Suddenly after a month, Aakash saw Ruhanika again and this time he took no time to woo her. Ruhanika too, was charmed with his ardour. Their eyes met, hands crossed, Cell numbers were exchanged. A spark was ignited .There was a cold breeze,a flurry of air making everything in favour of Aakash.

 For him,

         She was everything now,
an answer to all his problems,
a promise to all his commitments,
a drug he was addicted too,
a hymn he wanted to sung,
         She was everything to him,
    everything and beyond.

Life was beautiful now.
The days were now filled with endless hours of calling, cajoling, mischiefs, arguments and amorousness. Every Saturday after office, it was set, India Gate. He would reach early and then would happily wait for her to come. The evenings were always well spend , for he infallibly planned it perfectly , just the way he likes, the way she wants. All he ever asked her was to be with him now and forever...
But little did he knew, that the only thing constant is change.
Season was changing and so was Ruhanika. Days were now unbearably hot and so was Ruhanika' attitude. She started avoiding Aakash. He could sense it,after all she was the inseparable soul of him.The threads of their relationship were breaking. He spoke and asked endless times but there were no right answers. The aeon of pain, tears had began. The dreams he had built were all shattered, like the stack of cards falling on the ground. He was clueless, perplexed of what has happened, what on earth went wrong. He begged, he cried, he fought, he did all but summers were harsh and so was his life on him. He met her with so many questions and she left with all unanswered.
Aakash was a true taurian, careful and stubborn yet everything was flowing away from him. He couldn't believe it. After months of calling, messaging he gave up. He was broken.....  sometimes we all are in dilemma whether to try more or to go back.

What went wrong ,why and when he couldn't figure out...All he knew that she was gone and since that day he never saw her again.

And she broke up... # MondayMusings

It's one of those things which will ruin your entire life, without you realizing even a bit...

It wasn't easy, easy at all.  Riya had tried earlier also,  tried hard to overcome her fears on several occasions, to part her ways, to just break up for once and all. Break up with that one relationship which was trying to control her life in every way...

He was always around,  everywhere. At  the time of her quarter end at work, when she was all excited and up to perform her best, he came , ruining all her efforts , trying to control her mind and soul.  She was trying to put her best foot up , he was right there before her, screwing it up. It's then she realized that thinking will not overcome fear but her actions will.

Tired and exhausted , she finally mustered the strength to discord every tie with that relationship.. She took the plunge  and yeah she broke up with Stress. Riya realized how stress was taking toll on her life and how it was becoming such a regular part of her routine.
After a volcano of stress in her life, she realized that stress has so little to do with situations and a lot to do with our attitude. So my very dear friend Riya, decided to bestow me with her gyan.
Here are few things that helped her on way:
Prayer
This is the very first step in the whole break up process.  No , she don't preach to be a sanyasi but few minutes of prayer and meditation daily goes a long way and help in dealing with creepy situation around.
Fantasy Vs Reality
Here , i totally agree with my friend Riya,  for i am also bitten by a bug of exaggeration.  Out of 100 problems , 80% of problems are cooked up in my head which actually have no logical existence.
Disconnect to Reconnect
With this ,  My gyan guru Riya took my breath away ,by asking me to switch off myself from the digital world.  Half of the stress in life,  surface because of our technology and our social world , you know like Facebook, (apologies Mr. Mark ) whatsapp . So,  once in a while disconnect to reconnect with your mind and soul.
The secret
Here she totally swear by Rhonda Byre and agree with her law of attraction.  Stress attracts stress, happiness attracts happiness. So be positive, there is so much with the word S - Smile, Shopping , and yes Sex too....

I know habits die hard but being happy and Relax is'nt that stressful..
Feel free to share your stress free tricks... You never know which might work..

Few words of yours..

With few words of yours, my blood froze
Tears were rolling down my cheeks,
I felt feeble and week,
Moments were bathing agony pain,
My mind was not at all same,
I never thought it ever before
That some day you will be no more..
Today you aren't but your memories are alive..
Torning my heart deep down inside...

My Forever savior and Protector...

With Mother's day around, our very dear search engine Google and gift shops are almost flooded with mother's day cards ,endless gifting ideas from flowers to spa offers to heartfelt notes, you name it and you will have it. Blog post ,parenting sites are filled with touchy writeups on Mother's, Motherhood advices, thank you notes.(while I was also under process to write one..) But I was just wondering how many Mother's are actually reading it and are really really happy with those few minutes of celebration , you know like giving  those hallmark cards with lovely messages and showering her flowers and then back to pavilion.( I know you are the baby n she will love every gesture of yours but is it that she really wants, I doubt..)
Mother's day was founded with a very simple idea to express your love and honour to that one person who no matter what,  loved you unconditionally..

I don't remember which movie it was  but the dialogue " Mere pass Maa hai Maa " is just immortalised in my head and every time I go down the hill, she is the only Savior and Protector. Out of 13,000 thousand words (yeah, as per daily mail and new york times study that's  the average word a women speaks in a day) I guess 6000 times or even more I use to just say Mumma, Mumma khana, Mumma ,if not able to find books , Mumma extra pocket money, Mummy ,Papa ki permission to go out with friends, Mumma homework, Mumma this, Mumma that. Even for what happened wrong , she is the one who is blamed, some day , we forget to take books, it's because she didn't kept it,got late for school , it's because of her. In this entire process of growing up , she is the only one taken for granted ( okay , I agree , many times she has also feeded us with her emotional dialogues  like khana khalo nahi to khelne nahi Jana, rat room, crocodile room and what not ,they have all the tricks. No matter how much you eat, you will always remain her kamzoor bachha)
So, this Mother's day apart from giving all those fancy gifts ,  let's do something that really make her happy and proud.  Let's say something we have never said before,  let's express our love..
Here is mine for her..
Dear, Mumma
In this entire process of growing up, schooling, working and getting married, I never took the opportunity to thank you,to express you how much I love you. So, on this Mother's day I really want to say thank you mommy for all the love, for bearing me patiently ,for ignoring my countless mistakes, for teaching me love and compassion, for telling me to be calm and patient, for being with me always and always, for making me who I am today..

P.S.: We have and we will continue to annoy you ,earlier it was me and siddi ( now it's both of us plus our partners and yes of course , our partners in crime kuku. We all love you!!!!)

Letter to the Man I call : My Husband 😘..

Marriage, like everything else in life, cannot be taught until you experience.  Sometimes it's beautiful, sometimes hurtful....

It's long overdue (since our Anniversary). It was there always with me in my thoughts, finally my feelings are shaping into words...
Trust me I am always short of words while expressing to you, while expressing about you and so the  only thing i end up saying is that  I love you!!!
Seven years ago, we became husband and wife and since the day we  began our journey, you have been my pillar of strength. It's one of the best day we have experienced together and surely one that we both will treasure forever.
Some days i feel like our wedding was decade ago, while other times it just feel like thing of yesterday.  I know i never said this before but i am thankful for the Mauritius trip, the time we had spend together ( okay i agree half of the time i was the sleeping beauty...). Though we are so different from each other but i guess that's what make us perfectly together.  In our seven years of journey you fulfilled all the seven vows that you promised ( i know how exhausted and sleepy you were in the middle of night)  but still you managed to live upto it.. Beautifully..

In the first vow, you promised to cherish me and provide  welfare and happiness to me. Truly you did that baby by agreeing to all my unreasonable demands and by providing me your credit cards without question (Mind you, I also fulfilled my promise of standing by your side as your courage and strength.  I was always there right next to you while you were analysing the shopping list and the shopping bills.
Your second vow, was to protect our house and children and you very beautifully did that too by not letting me go to my mum's house frequently (c'mmon dear husband i understand how cleanliness freak you are..) you have always been a doting father,  i know the number of times you cancelled your meeting just to accompany me to our little munchkin's PTM, Doctor 's visit even to his silly play dates.  Now,  like a true soul mate I too fulfilled my another vow of promising you that i will rejoice in your happiness (Ultimately, your happiness is in my happiness  and you accompanied me always to Mumma' s house)
In the third phera,  you promised to share the pain and happiness together.  In all my sickness and monthly cramps I know,( Dear husband how much  you have nurtured and cared for me)  a thank would belittle all that..
In the fourth vow, we promised each other and prayed for more love and respect for each other and our families.  No doubt, we are and we will be going strong and love for our families ( oh!  you showered that too, everytime we talk about my brother, Shh.. I am not spilling the beans..)
In the fifth vow, we prayed for beautiful and noble children.  Indeed, we have one,  I know how sincere( read as naughty rat)  he has been all this while but everyday, he made our life worthwhile together.
In the sixth holy round around the fire 🔥, we asked for peaceful long life with each other (Now, i really want to know this who made this vow, PEACEFUL LIFE TOGETHER, i agree until one is deaf and dumb).
I might ever doubt about the above six vows, but the last one you fulfilled it every single day by being my campanion.  By being so patient.  You have truly proved how we are poles apart yet perfect together.
Dear Husband,  thanks for all the happiness and bliss and for giving me all the emotions i never knew existed deep within me..

Life, love & little more.....

There are so many things we wish for, so many moments that at some point of time remained unfinished. Moments which could have changed things in life forever. Moments which could have made life little more lovely, little more beautiful, IF....
Sitting by the window side, sipping the hot cuppa of tea, the smell of winters evoked nostalgic memories of life gone by...,
Shalini was lost in her own world thinking, recalling that day
30th August 2000, the day she began to dip her toes into love and the same day she came out of it...

30th August 2005 :"Here is the toast to the lovely couple On completing 5 years of eternal love and 5 years of togetherness" said Abhishek. Everybody raised into the air with a glass of wine smiling towards Shalini and Dhruv wishing them lifetime love & happiness together.
Shalini and Dhruv were happily married couple, were believed to be truly , deeply in love and tonight was the celebration of their 5th anniversary.
The sky was full of shimmering stars and the lights were dim, the songs began and the voice of Bryan Adams filled the room with just so perfect  aura. Amidst all the celebration, there she was lost and silently gazing the sky. Little the outside world knew the inside tale, Shalini was too tired to fake that smile anymore, tired of all that was so unreal..
She was all surrounded by lies of her and Dhruv's relationship. She never spoke about the pain that Dhruv gave of sharing a night with someone, his one night stand broke the thread of their relationship. She was shattered, and broken like being underwater and not able to breath.  Over the years she had build her life with someone she trusted, cared and then with the blink of an eye, it was all gone. There marriage survived all but love, love was lost in that one night stand of Dhruv....,

Heartbreaks have no remedy and their relationship turned out to be sour. It was hard to move forward and harder to stay back. For some good , some bad Shalini left leaving behind everything she created, everything that created her...
Betrayal is the most painful thing in the relationship. The relationship irrevocably changes whether you decide to stay or move out of the relationship. It tears the world apart...

Indoor Fun : Summer ideas to beat the heat.

Summers are around the corner and fun for the kids is about to begin. But the mercury is rising high and we will be bound to stay indoor. So what are we going to do with our kids who every hour squeal with ' I am getting bore' thing. The object is to plan ahead. This time ditch the T.V cartoons and the gaming gadgets and let's get into some mind and body drilling. Its time for bonding and creating memories this summer. So start creating the summer list today. Here are few ideas to keep the kids busy in fun way:
1. Board Games: we all have ample of board games but because of the television , I pads and tablets it got lost in our closet. So dig them out. Chess, monopoly, jenga, business, the whole family can have fun playing together. ( for young kids 4+ Hasbro has come up with monopoly junior party kid, believe me I had a lot fun playing this game with my kid) .Its fun and at the same time it teaches counting and using money.

2. Movie Time : Its time to catch up some good movies. Rent or buy their favorite movie and let the kids enjoy it with their all time snacks. You can also play your wedding DVDs and kids birthday bash CDs. Trust me kids will have gala time recognizing everyone in the family.

3. Cook it up : Now is the time for getting them involve into the kitchen. Let them try there hands on arranging table and decorating salads . It would be great watching our young chefs at work , making mocktail to beat the heat. You never know they might create a new recipe for family.

4.Record Memories : Here is the perfect moment to create some memories also time for some progress in enhancing hand and motor skills of our munchkins. With everything going digital we all have countless pictures saved in our cell phone and hard drive. Let's take the print and create a scrapbook. Kids will have loads of laugh and nostalgia while sticking them.

5. Play Dates : kids would love to meet their peers in vacation. Plan ahead and arrange a picnic at home . put a mat, arrange few games like passing the parcel and yes of course their favorite snacks and juices.

6. Tapping Feet : Its hard to beat the energy of our little souls. Let's get them into some dancing and grooving. It will not only get them out of bored blues but will also vent out their energy, so get along with them into some boggie woogie.

These activities are surely to bring lots of fun inside home this summer.
What's your favorite idea of summer activities. How did you plan to keep the kids occupied and having fun. Let's share them all and make together fun time.

Diary of an Expecting Mom - Truth vs Myth..

Last week my friend Anamika ( part of my girl's gang ) planned for an adventure trip. Since it was a long weekend they planned for a trip to Rishikesh for rafting. All excited she started the preps in full swing going for shopping, buying paddling suits, paddling pants. But little did she knew that the adventure had already began. Her pregnancy test turned out to be positive. Ye kya, O Lord, she asked for a few days fun and you blessed her with adventure all life. Someone has well said " upar wala jab bhi deta, deta chappar phadke" ( wen god gives, he gives luxuriously).
Now that my friend was expecting not just her Rishikesh trip got cancelled but her life took a 360 degrees turn. Seriously pregnancy is lot many things. It is so exciting to create a life within you for nine months. It is the most beautiful gift of life but at the same time it is scary too,the nausea, the cramps, the heavy belly, when you are expecting everyone treats you like a delicate doll, everyone is suddenly extra nice to you. For good or bad reasons you get everything you ask for.But along with this plenty of advises start pouring from everywhere literally anyone and everyone your friends, friends of friends , relatives, neighborhood aunty all of them are ready to shower  you with plethora of myths (oops advise !!) . The same happenned with my friend Anamika.

The first and common of all the recommendations was killer papaya. She was asked to stop eating papaya immediately as it would lead to miscarriage... Dear expecting mother's my humble request is please expand your horizon of knowledge it's only unripe and semi ripe that would be unsafe and that too if you eat in kilo's. So stop hitting the panic button if you just had one.
The second is eating anything white in the morning and drinking milk with saffron in it will result in fair skinned baby.( how obsessed are we with fair skin) I wonder why didn't any milk or bread didn't turned me white by now. And dear mom's to be the only person who will  benefit from your eating saffron is your  kirane wala ( remember kesar is the most expensive spice in the world ) . Well the truth is the skin color of baby only depends on genetics
The third is the sex of the baby , every one is so interested in it. If you are glowing its a girl, if you are looking dull its boy. The size and shape of mom's tummy can also predict the gender even the heart rate of the foetus can foretell the gender of the baby O dear next door aunty u failed science ( ultrasound and amniocentesis we don't need you anymore).

There are various other myths ( read as advise) like eat for two, don't take the staircase, don't exercise don't eat pineapples don't go out in lunar eclipse don't ,don't just don't advise my mom anymore says the little soul from inside.
I don't doubt old wives tales but few myths have no scientific evidence but truth is also this that our mothers and grandmothers didn't had monthly check ups still they did their job best, they didn't had fancy nursing home, big labor rooms still they raised us in best possible way. So don't blindly believe all of them.
